Judgement Day

Tomorrow is the final day but I promised myself that tomorrow will not catch me doing anythin else but droping off my project. My editing was finished before by proposed date which was the 31st May but I was finished by 28th May. I'm very proud of myself and I know I have great class mates. Even though they may not have been directly involved in the project because of the nature of it, they were all just a phone call away fo advice. Miss Sampson was an email away and I don't have internet access to my disposal easily. I wish all my class mates the very best and I can't wait to go and hand it up.

On My Way There

I started the menu and my brochures should be printed and ready by Tuesday 02nd June. That's not last minutes that is good planning. As long as it isn't on Wednesday 03rd, I'm good.

Almost Finished

Finally it's almost finished. Miss Sampson got a sample today and so she has an idea what to expect. I still have a lot of other things to do apart from the editing. There is my menu, comment forms, brochures, dvd faces and dvd covers.

Editing Everything

Editing is coming along well I just realise that for no reason some times stuff on Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 workes and some times it just does. Like audio would stop and start back only at a particular area so I have to re edit that part over and over until it works. So far that is the only frustrating thing but other than that nothing else is creating a big problem. Three weeks ago I've been organising the the brouchures and this week i'm sending it to print. My dvd labels should be also ready by the end of the week so let's see how it goes.

Sticking to Proposal

I'm having some difficulties committing to my proposal. I stated that after every interview the respective doctors will comment/analyze/examine the interview. Unfortunately the both doctors are now saying that they can make a general statement for all of the interviewees because they would be repeating their selves over and over due to the fact that their symptoms are quite similar as they are all trying to fill a space in their lives. The doctors also said that they can only comment on what they saw which is a few minutes of footage whereas their real doctors would have years of information on the interviews.

Great Shoots

The shoots went well and I can't wait to start editing. I think I'm going to take out some of the other interviews that I wanted to use initially because these stories that I got over the weekend are worth telling.

Almost Finish Shooting

I have a shoot which was not planned for but I was talking to some people this week and I heard about "Authism Week" that which was in April that Republic Bank and probed them about "Animal Therapy" for these children. It turns out that they knew of a woman who had a therapy dog for her son who has slight Authistic symptoms. When I spoke to the woman she told me about another woman who does horse back riding with differently able children. I have the shoots this weekend with them. I'm actually excited about it.

Day At SBCS

WELL, yesterday was the open day for the HND in Media and I think that we got a really good response. Navid shot in the tv studio and boy that set was a little challenging. We didn't get the same shades of green to begin and and smoothing it out was another challenge. Lighting was not difficult as I had to wait until the set was finished before lighting again. I had to leave around 2:25pm to get some shots that I needed of my own.Saturday the 25th April was very productive.

Organising With Issues

I have been putting a lot of things together for alittle over a week now. The Summit weekend my general manager wanted me to work both Sathurday and Sunday from morning to evening. After he told me to work (he didn't ask), I went home feeling disturbed. I couldn't sleep all night, then I realised that I shouldn't have to work so hard all weekend for a little more money and I have equipment home as I planned to get some supporting footage this weekend. I went to work the next day while mt general manager started planning this out as of how and where he wants me to work. I matched straight into his office and told him that I have my school work to do and I will not be able to work this weekend. Well he was very upset but he didn't realise that I knew I had an option until that point. It turned out that I did use that weekend wisely and I am also thinking about letting someone else sing the song that I wrote for this documentary whether I sing it and use someone else as back up or chorus or just use that person's voice alone. Haven't decided just yet. The hand outs that I wanted to use for my presentation, I'm getting it cheaper else where. I feel really good about that.

Productive Weekend

This weekend was very productive. I got a new interview also got great footage of Dr. Bridgelal "scoping" some horses ( sending a camera through the nose of the horses). I went down to Avocat to get more footage on Krishna Dhanraj and his pet goat "Bushbug." Bushbug was able to help a sheep and her two new born lamb by getting Krishna's attention to bring them home before the night and the rain. I got some more supporting footage and I really feel good about the footage I got.

This Long Weekend

I will be on call with Dr. Bridgelal and I have already organised everything so I am prepared for shooting the footage. I tried making this entry in SBCS and it just wasn't updating. That was very frustrating. Navid was suppose to call to update me on what is going on for his project. All I know thus far is that he wants to record on 25th April in the studios of SBCS and might shoot on 26th April. That weekend I also have shoots and SBCS Port of Spain is having their "open day."
The Summit is on the weekend on the 17th April and I'm not sure how much I can get done on that weekend because I have to work.

Great Shoot

The shoot went well on the weekend of the 28th March. I got a good interview with a horse owner and trainer who grew up with animals. She is an animal lover and she has more pets than I thought. I literally lost count. She even started taking care of stray dogs because of her love for animals.
During the shoot I was getting a lot of wind on the shot gun and so I took the cylinder card board from the empty roll of paper towel from home as I planned for this. I was also equiped with scotch tape. It worked but not the way I hoped it would.
I started composing a song for the ending of the documentary and it is almost completed. I wanted just one or two instruments in this song but I'm not very good with playing instruments.
I just know a few basics on keyboard and recorder so I need to sit and work with a musician this weekend to work on it. I know in my head I clearly heard a guitar so that will definitely be one of the instruments if not the only one. I'm also working on a melody for the beginning of the documentary which I believe i have a good start on. It is a bit haunting and I love that. I am very self consciencious of my singing but I might have to put that aside if I want this done in time and the way I want it.
I booked equipment for last weekend but I didn't have an interview and Dr. Bridgelal was under the weather so I knew he would not be on call then I decided to leave the equipment for someone who may need it more than I would. I was just going to shoot some cut aways so I concentrated on the music instead.

Shooting Time

Getting ready to start shooting tomorrow with Veterinarian Dr. Bridgelal. I am trying to get extra things like batteries and an extra camera if i can from a friend of mine so the other students in class would have the liberty of another camera. This is what i did for my last documentary and I worked fine.

Audience Feed Back

While presenting on Wednesday 25th March 2009, I noticed the look I look i got from the audience was quite warm. Lueanne Olivery presented before I did and her's was also about animals but from a different perspective so the class looked rather pleased. I already did a documentary with animals that I used as my pilot project to learn and improve on my short comings so that I can now emphasize and elaborate on the things that I need to, in order to create my final project. The audience recognised this without me making any mention of it and so I understood that they knew what to expect to an extent. A few members from audience spoke to me separately and they all said the same things which was "it seems even more interesting from the last because we'll see more stories", "it is unique and creative."
My feed back was quite positive and i even got a suggestion that I'm still not sure of which was "NO SAD STORIES PLEASE!" One member of the audience even ask for the stories to play with the soft side of her emotions towards animals.

Got through

I finally got through to Dr. Bridgelal last Friday 20th and he is making some arrangements for me to meet some pet owners of race horses. We kept in touch all weekend and yesterday trying to organise for this to happen. This should be an interesting experience because the last time I interview Dr. Bridgelal at Santa Rosa Race Track, horse racing appeared to be more of a business rather having them as a pet. I'll find out more about that this weekend hopefully.

Phone calls

I have been trying to get Dr. Bridgelal on the phone for the past two days. I know he is busy on weekends with the race track but i'm just not getting through at all.Hopefully he'll respond to my voicemail. I'm a bit disturbed about the idea of going along with Dr. Brideglal on one of his calls to attend to animals. This is beacause when he is on call I will have to leave my job and time off is not easy to get. When he gets a call, he'll leave immediately and go to help the animal in need but that does not mean i can drop when i'm doing to go with him. That is just one of the problems i'm having right now to go on one of his calls. I definately have to come up with a great plan.

A Way In

I have tried on numerous occasions to have meetings and interviews with the TTSPCA and something always come up and they cancel. I have found a way to try and avoid that through Dr. Rossi Bridgelal who is one of the volunteering veterinarian with the TTSPCA and he agreed to take me along whenever he is going to attend to an animal in need of help. Usually he is accompanied by a member from the TTSPCA so that will be my opportunity to get an interview with someone from there and to shoot Dr. Bridgelal in action.I hope this works and he keeps his word.

Starting

I am glad I decided to expand on my last documentary since last October but I didn't think that I would still want to do that until I realised that this documentary is actually more interested that i thought it would be due to extensive research.

Good Start

I have done a documentary on Animal Therapy by it is not recognised in Trinidad and Tobago as it is in the United States of America. People do it here in Trinidad but they are not aware that they are indeed practicing "Animal Therapy." My research led me to realise that if Animal Therapy exist then is there such a thing as "Human Therapy?" The answer was YES. If it is called "Human Therapy?" For now that is what it is being called until further research.
This documentary has under gone its experimental stage as I used it as my last assignment and I got a good response thus far. Now I want to expand on this documentary as my final media project going further into the research and into the lives of those who have benifited from one or both of the therapies.
